National Centre for Domestic Violence is the UK\'s largest organisation helping victims of domestic abuse and violence obtain injunctions against their perpetrators. To date we have helped over 100,000 people change their lives forever and we are looking for a dedicated Helpline Advisor who has a passion to help people navigate their way through the legal complexities of Domestic Violence and Abuse.
Location: Guildford with Hybrid working after training
Position: Helpline Advisor
Contract: Part-time – 20hrs a week (9am to 1pm, 10am to 2pm or 1pm-5pm)
Are you a compassionate, confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills? We are looking for a dedicated Helpline Advisor to join our team, supporting service users with a range of sensitive and sometimes challenging circumstances.
About the Role:
As a Helpline Advisor, you'll be the first point of contact for individuals seeking support. You must be able to work independently as well as part of a supportive team. The nature of the calls can be sensitive, emotional, and at times difficult, so resilience and empathy are essential.
Key Requirements:
- Must be able to commute of our office in Guildford
- Ability to listen and type information
- Ability to remain calm, professional and supportive on sensitive calls
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to handle confidential and sometimes distressing information
- Must complete a aptitude and typing test as part of the interview process
