Position Overview:

NorMed, a paramedic-owned and operated company based in the UK, is seeking experienced Allied Health Care Professionals with prescribing capabilities for the role of Remote Triage Clinician. This position involves providing remote triage services, with a focus on patient safety, efficient case management, and effective communication with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct remote triage for a variety of cases, including providing advice, scheduling appointments, and directing patients to the most appropriate clinician.

  2. Collaborate with GPs, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and on-site paramedics to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  3. Work closely with a Care Navigator to identify cases suitable for triage and streamline the patient flow within the system.

  4. Ensure patient safety by implementing traditional safety netting practices and documenting interactions with patients.

  5. Make follow-up phone calls to confirm adherence to proposed plans, provide clarification, or gather additional information.

  6. Demonstrate a high level of alertness and attention to detail, particularly in cases requiring a quick resolution or additional examination.

  7. Utilise IT skills, with proficiency in EMIS being a bonus, to efficiently manage remote triage sessions.

  8. Adhere to fixed session durations, aiming to triage over 45 patients within a 4-hour timeframe.

Qualifications:

  • Paramedic, Physician's Associate, or Nurse with primary care or other relevant experience.
  • IT-savvy, with familiarity in EMIS considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to shadow existing clinicians for professional development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • High level of alertness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced remote triage environment.
  • Ability to work under your own initiative.

Working Conditions:

Home/remote working.

  • Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday sessions are available
  • Sessions are 4, 5, or 8 hours, with a commitment to triage a minimum number of patients within the specified timeframe.

  • Must have access to a windows laptop with 8 RAM memory and be willing to download the required software

Pay rate: £31.00 per hour which includes annual leave payment.
