Job Summary

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in improving supplier performance and ensuring quality standards are met across the Carallon supply chain. Based in London, you will act as a specialist in supplier quality and development of processes, supporting Carallon's operations and manufacturing teams leading improvement initiatives. You will contribute to the continuous advancement of Carallon's Supplier Quality Management System and play a critical part in driving long-term supply chain success.

This role includes occasional travel and offers a unique opportunity to collaborate across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing disciplines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive, execute and coordinate supplier quality activities within the supply chain 
  • Responsible to coordinate Supplier Quality Non-Conformities liaising with Suppliers, Manufacturing and Purchasing Departments
  • Work with suppliers to ensure effective Non-Conformities resolutions using Problem Solving Techniques including 8D reports, Root Cause Analysis (5Why), Containment and Corrective Actions
  • Review Supplier 8D reports to ensure satisfactory compliance
  • Contribute to create and maintain a Supplier Audit Programme including Suppliers' System, Process and Product Audits (FAI) and Supplier Visits, working with the Business QA Manager, Purchasing Management and the Manufacturing Management
  • Conduct Supplier Audits whenever required, mainly process and product audits
  • Generate audit reports and supplier visit reports
  • Assist with inspection process of new parts, engineering change and defective components, including physical inspections
  • Contribute to develop and manage Supplier KPIs and Scorecards to monitor Suppliers Performance, in conjunction with Business QA and Purchasing Management
  • Contribute to supplier quality data management and creation of supplier reporting for the SLT and for Quality Management Reviews
  • Develop supplier capabilities using tools like Process FMEA and Process Control Plans to prevent Supplier Non-Conformities and to reduce defects
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and support suppliers to deliver high quality parts and to further develop Quality Management System's processes
  • Support the new supplier selection process reviewing Supplier Self-Assessment Forms when required
  • Participate in engineering change processes
  • Manage supplier-raised changes, deviations, and escalations
  • Report on purchased items Conflict Minerals, RoHS and REACH status 


Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of product and process manufacturing, electronic and mechanical engineering and quality systems, assurance and controls requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a regulated industry within a quality/manufacturing/engineering role
  • Technically qualified in a suitable discipline
  • Demonstrated success in driving supplier quality improvements using best practice tools


Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma methodologies including TQM, Lean techniques and Problem-Solving tools
  • Engineering/technical degree or equivalent
  • Internal Auditor Qualification for ISO 9001:2015
  •  Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements
  • Well-developed IT skills, proficient in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint
  • Familiarity with quality documentation and systems
  • Experience working in matrix organisations across teams
  • Ability to work independently, good attention to details
  • Proactive approach to work and to problem solving
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T, electronics schematics and technical requirements
  • Experience of suppliers' development and of implementing new processes
