Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analysing, and improving complex systems across various projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise in systems engineering, project management, and mechanical design within a collaborative environment. The position involves working on innovative solutions that require a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of engineering.
Duties
- Develop and optimise system designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within existing systems and implement effective solutions.
- Manage projects from conception through to completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Design and programme control systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), C++, Python, and MATLAB for automation purposes.
- Create detailed schematics and system diagrams, applying GD&T principles to ensure precision manufacturing and assembly.
- Perform data analysis to evaluate system performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Utilise systems engineering principles to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components into cohesive solutions.
- Collaborate with construction teams during installation phases, providing technical support and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system specifications, schematics, and test procedures for future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience in systems engineering with a strong background in system design and analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and general schematic creation.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and programming languages including C++, Python, and MATLAB.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and data interpretation.
- Knowledge of mechanical principles, GD&T standards, and construction processes related to engineering projects.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing environments and experience conducting experiments or testing protocols.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with data analysis skills to optimise system performance effectively.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and mathematical models relevant to systems engineering tasks.
