We're looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our finance team and play a key role in supporting the company's financial operations.

About the Role

As the Assistant Financial Controller, you'll work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting. You'll gain hands-on experience across the full finance function — from management reporting and compliance to process improvement and team support — with a clear progression path toward the Financial Controller role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and timely production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the purchase ledger function, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to enhance financial systems and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.

About You

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator and proactive team player with a drive to develop and progress.
