As a support worker you will be required to work between the hours of 0715 and 2130. Shifts are generally a mix of , and

Those requiring only morning shifts or work during school hours need not apply as unfortunately we are unable to offer contracts for only shifts.

The role will include supporting people with personal care, cleaning around the homes, completing medication and financial checks and completing thorough records for the time you are in shift.

You will be employed to work within a team to provide care and support services for adults with learning and/or physical disabilities, and/or behaviours that may challenge to enable them to live a healthy, happy and fulfilled life.

You will be required to deliver support to a range of ages and genders to support them with;

  • Decision making, promoting choice and involvement empowering the people receiving support to take control of their own lives.
  • Participation in social, leisure, educational and employment opportunities within the local community in line with ordinary life principles.
  • Access to holidays and day trips of their choice.
  • Maintaining acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.
  • Making and attending medical and health appointments to maintain great physical and mental health.
  • Maintaining their individual tenancy agreements and liaising with the landlord as necessary.
  • Completing day to day tasks to assist in the running of the people we supports homes e.g. supporting to prepare and cook a range of homecooked meals, cleaning, laundry and general upkeep of their homes.
  • Managing their finances and ensuring their money is spent safely and managed correctly e.g. bills are paid and they have money in place for the things they need
  • Maintaining family and friend relationships and maintaining regular contact

You will be required to;

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication.
  • To deliver support in line with the persons support plan whilst assisting the management to update and review all plans in place.
  • Take a keyworker role to support people closely and understand their needs, wants and wishes thoroughly.
  • Administer medication following the prescribing doctors instructions.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and supervisions
  • Liaise with professionals about the individual and their needs.
  • Complete and attend all training required of you in a swift manner.
  • Communicate effectively with both colleagues and managers to ensure you work in an open and honest manner.
  • Have good team working skills to develop excellent working relationships with your colleagues.
  • Report any concerns you may have to ensure the service continues to run in a safe, open and honest manner.
  • Record information about the person you are supporting on a day to day basis.

Full time hours available: Hours per week plus overtime on an optional basis.

Pay: £12.21-£12.75 per hour
