Your new role

As a Commercial Finance Analyst at Sofology, you'll play a key part in helping our business make smart, insight-led decisions. Supporting our store and online teams, you'll deliver high-quality reporting, budgeting, and financial modelling that drives performance. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the business, turning data into clear, actionable insights - all while continuously improving how we do things.

A day in the life of...

A commercial finance analyst is not just about crunching numbers, it's about…

• Internal reporting and analysis - Build, review, analyse, and communicate financial performance to key stakeholders, providing an understanding of performance and opportunities to drive future improvements
• Budget management and forecasting - Aid the creation of forecasts and budgets that are realistic, robust and agile, working with stakeholders to ensure delivery of business and financial performance with clear identification of risks and opportunities.
• Financial modelling - Support the senior finance business partner in preparing financial models as needed, developing business cases in conjunction with stakeholders and other Business Units to enhance business performance, putting in place robust post implementation review processes to assess performance vs. business cases.
• Business partnering - the analyst role will support the senior finance business partner in working with a wide range of stakeholders across the business; with the ability to build strong relationships that allow you to constructively challenge and support leaders with your own ideas and thoughts.
• Continual Improvement - Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement
• Data - comfortable working with and reconciling large data sets and playing a lead role liaising with the data team to ensure accuracy and integrity of data

• Flexible to changing requirements of the business and team
• Excel or Google Sheets experience
• Attention to detail
• Good written and verbal skills and proven experience of reporting
• Awareness and interest in getting to know the business to support insight led decision making
• Good communication skills with both finance and non finance managers across all levels, with ability to succinctly communicate financial information and begin to influence
• Experience in an office environment
• Professional: Minimum Part Qualified, within 12 months of completing (ACCA, CIMA), ideally newly qualified (CIMA/ACCA/CA)
