Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in the senior care sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisted living and nursing home environments, with a passion for providing high-quality care to residents. This role involves supporting the overall management of the care home, ensuring compliance with care plans, and leading a team of caregivers to deliver exceptional service. The Deputy Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, particularly those requiring dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Duties
- Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Supervise and support staff in delivering high-quality care, including medication administration and personal care.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans for residents, regularly reviewing and updating them as necessary.
- Provide leadership and training to staff, fostering a positive working environment that encourages professional development.
- Engage with residents and their families to ensure satisfaction with services provided, addressing any concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records related to resident care and staff performance, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for residents with complex needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is essential.
- Background in nursing or senior care, with knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer's care practices.
- Strong management skills with previous supervisory experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating empathy and respect for residents' dignity.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when required.
