Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our preschool. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment where children's development and well-being are prioritised. The Deputy Manager will support the overall running of the pre-school, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Duties

  • Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the nursery, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Lead and supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to foster a positive team environment.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene within the nursery environment.
  • Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare that promotes early childhood development.
  • Engage with parents and carers to communicate children's progress and address any concerns effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to childcare.
  • Organise staff rotas, oversee training sessions, and facilitate ongoing professional development.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.

Qualifications

  • Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare environments.
  • Knowledge of nursery regulations and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent are essential.
  • Experience with children's developmental needs and activities is essential.
