Tax Line Advisor

Location:

Employment Type:
Permanent, Full-time

Salary:

About the Role

This is a fully remote advisory role where you'll provide expert tax guidance across a diverse range of technical matters to clients seeking strategic tax planning solutions.

This is not a compliance role. You'll be handling complex, nuanced tax queries that require analytical thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate sophisticated concepts clearly. The variety of topics you'll encounter makes this an intellectually stimulating position for someone who enjoys problem-solving and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert tax advice via telephone and email on a broad spectrum of tax matters including personal tax, corporate tax, and owner-managed business scenarios
  • Handle complex advisory queries including share schemes and gifting arrangements, inheritance tax planning strategies, group loss relief optimisation, residence and domicile issues, foreign income and capital gains treatment, and business restructuring considerations
  • Research and analyse intricate tax legislation and case law to support advice given
  • Deliver clear, practical recommendations that balance technical accuracy with commercial awareness
  • Stay current with tax legislation changes and their practical implications
  • Collaborate with colleagues on particularly complex or multi-faceted cases

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification:
ATT qualified, or CTA part-qualified (ideally approaching completion of studies)
  • Experience:
Demonstrable advisory experience across mixed tax disciplines (personal and corporate)
  • Previous experience handling non-routine tax queries and providing strategic tax planning advice
  • Strong technical knowledge across tax
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and concisely
  • Confident working independently in a remote environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Desirable

  • CTA qualification (completed or near completion)
  • Experience in professional practice or with owner-managed businesses
  • Exposure to international tax matters including residence, domicile, and cross-border transactions
  • Knowledge of share schemes and employee incentive arrangements
  • Familiarity with trust and estate taxation

What's on Offer

  • Fully remote working
  • Exposure to an exceptional variety of technical tax matters
  • Continuous professional development and support for ongoing qualifications
  • Collaborative team environment despite remote working
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Opportunity to develop specialist expertise across multiple tax areas

About You

You're someone who thrives on technical challenges and enjoys the satisfaction of solving complex problems. You have a genuine interest in advisory work and prefer strategic thinking over repetitive compliance tasks. You're comfortable with ambiguity and can synthesise information from multiple sources to form well-reasoned conclusions. You communicate with clarity and patience, understanding that your clients may not share your technical background.

Working remotely suits your style, and you're self-motivated, organised, and proactive in seeking support when needed.

At Gleeson Recruitment Group, we embrace inclusivity and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. We are proud to be a disability confident employer.
