About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Senior Chartered Tax Manager, acting as Head of Tax – UK, to lead the UK Group's tax risk, compliance, and advisory activities.
As the UK's Chartered Tax Manager, this individual will own and evolve the organisation's tax risk and governance framework, ensure best-in-class compliance and reporting, and identify strategic planning opportunities across the Group.
This is a pivotal role at the heart of the finance function — combining technical depth, operational rigour, and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will shape how the business navigates an increasingly complex tax landscape, balancing robust governance with proactive support for growth, transactions, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Risk Management & Controls
• Lead and maintain the UK Tax Risk and Controls Matrix, ensuring alignment with global frameworks and strategies.
• Test, document, and enhance tax controls across direct and indirect tax processes.
• Identify, assess, and report on emerging tax risks and legislative changes.
• Drive continuous improvement in tax governance and compliance frameworks.
Tax Compliance
• Oversee UK corporate tax compliance and accounting, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
• Support transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and tax implications of M&A, restructures, and cross-border activities.
• Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate tax reporting and planning.
• Monitor evolving tax legislation and advise on impacts and opportunities.
Governance & Reporting
• Prepare quarterly Tax Risk and Governance reports for senior leadership.
• Maintain clear documentation to support tax positions and risk assessments.
• Partner with finance and operational teams to embed tax compliance into business processes.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build trusted relationships with senior internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Provide guidance and training to finance and operational teams to strengthen tax awareness and control.
About You
• Chartered tax or accounting qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA).
• 5–10 years' experience in tax risk, compliance, or advisory roles within a multinational environment or Big 4 firm.
• Deep understanding of UK and international tax legislation and risk frameworks.
• Proven experience in tax controls testing, documentation, and reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and tax technology tools.
Why Join?
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the UK tax strategy of a dynamic, growth-oriented global organisation — ensuring compliance excellence while enabling commercial agility. You'll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking finance team with the autonomy to drive best practice and innovation.
