The Exelby Green Dragon has come under new ownership and is heading into a new chapter. From this autumn we'll be reopening with a sharper focus: well-kept cask ales, an elevated but unpretentious food offer, and service that feels warm, calm, and confident.

We're looking for someone steady, capable, and switched on — someone who can lead a shift properly, keep standards high, and make guests feel welcome without fuss. You'll work directly with the owners, run the floor, and be trusted to keep things moving the right way. This is a full-time, hands-on role for someone who likes being where the atmosphere is — the talk, the clink of glasses, the rhythm of service.

The role

– Lead shifts with confidence and presence

– Motivate and support the front-of-house team

– Help train and develop junior staff

– Handle cellar, stock, opening and closing

– Keep standards tight and service unforced

You'll need

– Experience in quality gastropubs or similar venues

– Flexibility and common sense

– Energy on busy nights and initiative when it's quiet

– Bonus points for solid cask-ale knowledge and cellar skills

– A calm, practical style with a bit of character

– Pride in presentation and genuine care for guests
