Senior Accounts Assistant - Hilsea - Office based

Work Pattern:Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30 08:00 -16:30

The Role:

We are seeking an organised and ambitious individual to provide supervision and guidance to our Finance Team and ensure all financial and accounting operations within the Finance Department are carried out to a high standard, including opportunities to work on finance projects across the organisation. Main Responsibilities: Senior Accounts Assistant

  • First point of contact for queries regarding purchase ledger and credit control with further escalation to Finance Manager
  • Oversee the smooth running of daily financial activities and maintain strong financial controls
  • Assist in the production of management accounts monthly, to include accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries
  • Monitor the cash flow of the company to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet daily cash flow needs
  • Process and manage daily foreign and domestic payments, to include end of month bank reconciliations, and month end reporting
  • Process customer legal claims
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reviewing performance across the organisation
  • Prepare the VAT returns and support with company annual audits
  • Support with annual stocktakes, ensuring correct item costs are applied to stock

Skills & Experience: Senior Accounts Assistant

  • 3 years plus experience in a Finance role, to include credit control and purchase ledger
  • Accountancy qualification desirable but not essential
  • Advanced Excel skills essential and previous experience of SAP and Xero is highly desirable
  • Organised and with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills including people leadership experience
  • Commercial and business awareness
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial
