Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential support to a young man with ASD And challenging behaviour. As a support worker, you will play a vital role in maintaining his well-being. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Applicants should be physically active and able to participate in a range of activities—including cycling, swimming, and hill walking—as they will be supporting an energetic man with Autism Spectrum Disorder who enjoys an active lifestyle.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care services to client according to care plans
- Assist with activities of daily living, including prompting with showering, grooming, dressing etc.
- Administer medications as directed by his care plan.
- Assist with meal preparation.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Accompany clients to appointments and outings as needed
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's condition
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Experience:
- Previous experience of providing care and support, particularly on the autism spectrum whether in a care home or home care setting, is preferred
-Compassionate and flexible nature, ability to manage complex needs patiently.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
- Valid driver's license is a plus
