About the Role

We are establishing a brand-new Analytics function within the Business Performance team, and we are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Analytics to build it from the ground up.

Your primary mission will be to create a single point of truth for performance reporting and insight, enabling confident, consistent, and data-informed decision making across the organisation.

You will design the operating model, set the standards, and build a high performing analytics team that supports both central performance needs and analysts embedded across the business.

You will work closely with the central Data team - who own the company's data infrastructure and strategy - to ensure the analytics function is built on strong, reliable data foundations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a Single Point of Truth for performance reporting, aligning definitions, KPIs, methodologies, and reporting standards across the organisation as well as overseeing the design, delivery, and governance of dashboards, scorecards, and reporting packs that provide clear visibility of performance.
  • Build the new Analytics function, defining its purpose, structure, processes, and ways of working.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a small central team of analysts, creating a culture of excellence, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop a scalable analytics and reporting framework that ensures trust, reliability, and consistency in insight generation, in line with strategic company goals.
  • Partner with heads of department to ensure they understand the performance of their function, providing insight and recommendations for improvement.
  • Partner with the Director of Business Performance to translate strategic priorities into analytics roadmaps, performance measurement frameworks, and insight agendas.
  • Work closely with the central Data team to ensure analytics needs are communicated, prioritised, and supported by robust data infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and quality standards for analysts embedded within other areas of the business.
  • Implement and champion data governance and quality checks within the Analytics function to build confidence in reporting outputs.
  • Drive data literacy across the business, helping stakeholders interpret insights and make informed decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in analytics, business performance, BI, or related roles, including prior leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to build teams, functions, or new capabilities from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated success establishing reporting standards, KPIs, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency with analytics and BI tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI and statistical modelling tools).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with central data engineering teams to ensure analytics needs are met.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Track record of improving data trust, clarity, and consistency across complex environments.

What We're Looking For

  • A builder - someone excited by the challenge of creating a new function and shaping its long-term direction, growing with the business.
  • A collaborative leader who can work across organisational boundaries to establish alignment and trust.
  • A strategic thinker who can design scalable processes while also rolling up their sleeves to deliver.
  • A mentor who enjoys developing analysts and raising the bar for analytics across the business.
