About You

Are you ready to shape the commercial success of major developments? We are looking for a proactive, detail-driven Senior Surveyor to deliver accurate, insightful financial control that influence land acquisition, planning, and commercial decision-making across multiple sites. You will responsible for achieving accurate financial control, analyse abnormal and core construction costs, maintain cost libraries, support value engineering, and provide the commercial intelligence that underpins project viability and profitability.

To excel, you will have over 7 years' experience, will bring strong surveying experience, proficiency with Bidcon, Datum, Fusion or similar tools, and a solid understanding of construction methods, cost structures, and procurement.

Confident in producing forecasts, leading tendering and budget creation, preparing CBRs, and challenging site variations, you will also be skilled in subcontractor negotiation, relationship management, and influencing build and design decisions. With excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills, plus a relevant qualification (RICS desirable) and CSCS card, you will ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and high-quality outputs across every stage of the development cycle.

Your Impact:

Using Bidcon or similar software, you will provide the cost intelligence that underpins project viability, profitability, and smarter build decisions. Working within our flexible hybrid model, you will balance remote work with on-site collaboration, engaging closely with Commercial, Construction, Development, Land, and Planning teams to drive cost certainty from concept to completion.

What you will do:

  • Provide Accurate Cost Control: Prepare high-quality estimates, cost forecasts, and Construction Budget Reviews (CBRs) to guide commercial decision-making and ensure project viability.
  • Analyse & Optimise Costs: Review labour, material, and overhead costs, identify abnormal costs, and propose value engineering solutions to maximise efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead Tendering & Budget Management: Create tender lists, manage procurement, negotiate with subcontractors, and maintain accurate construction budgets aligned with company procedures.
  • Site Oversight & Risk Management: Attend sites regularly to monitor costs, challenge variations, and update risk registers, ensuring projects stay on budget and on schedule.
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, internal teams, and external partners, leading negotiations and supporting onboarding.
  • Influence Build & Design Decisions: Participate in design meetings, review build methods and recommend cost-effective construction solutions.
