We're a long-established chemical manufacturing company based in Huddersfield, looking for a 
Part-Time Accounts Assistant
 to join our friendly and dedicated team.

This role is ideal for someone with solid accounting experience who enjoys working in a structured yet supportive environment. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining our financial operations, working three days a week with flexibility around your schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and promptly
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor company accounts to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting and processing.
  • Manage petty cash and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support credit control by following up on outstanding payments.
  • Handle supplier and customer queries by phone and email.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance assistant role
  • Excellent numeracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

Desirable:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Full driving licence and own transport (occasional bank or post office visits)
