We are seeking a committed and experienced leader to join our established but welcoming leadership team as Assistant Headteacher (Raising Standards Leader), working across King's Academy Gomer and King's Academy Rowner.

This exciting vacancy has arisen following the promotion of our current Assistant Headteacher / Raising Standards Leader to a senior leadership role in another school, which is a reflection of the strength, ambition, and professional growth that KGA encourages across its staff.

This is an opportunity for a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and the belief that every child deserves the very best opportunities and success on a global stage.

About the Role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence across our two junior schools, focusing on raising standards in teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes. You will work closely with senior leaders to shape and deliver our shared vision, ensuring that every learner is inspired, challenged, and supported to achieve their full potential.

You will lead key areas of school improvement, championing a culture of high expectations, research-informed practice, and shared accountability. Working across both academies offers the opportunity to influence practice, build capacity in others, and experience leadership in two vibrant, community-focused schools.

About You

You will be an established or aspiring senior leader who:

  • Has a proven track record of raising standards and improving outcomes.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy.
  • Leads with integrity, humility, and determination, embodying our values of Honesty, Faith and Courage.
  • Is committed to inclusive, child-centred leadership and to ensuring that all pupils, including those with SEND, thrive.
  • Is collaborative, reflective, and energised by working as part of a strong, supportive team.
  • Can balance strategic leadership with a hands-on commitment to teaching and learning.

What We Offer

At KGA, we value professional growth, innovation, and collaboration. The successful candidate will benefit from:

  • Working across two highly regarded junior academies with ambitious, caring cultures.
  • A Trust-wide commitment to leadership development and staff wellbeing.
  • Coaching, mentoring and opportunities to lead initiatives.
  • The chance to be part of a network of leaders across a trust of 15 schools, shaping the future of primary education.
