Technical Support Engineer

Location: UK | Reports to: Technical Support Team Leader

Type: Full-time | Travel: UK

Campbell Scientific — a global leader in measurement and data acquisition technology — is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our dynamic Client Services team.

This entry-level role is your gateway to a rewarding technical career, offering hands-on experience across software, hardware, communications, and customer engagement. You'll not only solve problems — you'll help shape smarter solutions.

 

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will :-

  • Provide expert technical support to customers via phone, email, and web.

  • Troubleshoot communication systems — including Ethernet, serial, satellite, radio, and cellular.

  • Configure and support Campbell Scientific software products.

  • Write, test, and support CRBasic datalogger programs to interface with sensors and protocols.

  • Deliver engaging training sessions for customers on system operation and best practices.

  • Support system testing, documentation, and configuration activities.

  • Travel within the UK and internationally to support clients and installations.

  • Continually develop your skills in programming, systems integration, and customer engagement.

Essential skills and qualities:

  • A technical background (communications, networking, instrumentation, or similar).

  • Strong communication skills — able to explain technical details clearly and confidently.

  • A customer-first mindset with a passion for problem-solving.

  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Full UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK

  • Willingness to travel when needed (UK, -  Europe, and beyond occasionally).

Desirable:

  • Experience with instrumentation or communication protocols.

  • Experience in system configuration or programming.
