Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Private Equity Backed Technology Company

Overview

We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial function of our high-growth, private equity backed technology business as we prepare for a near-term exit. This executive will serve as a key partner to the CEO, Board, and private equity stakeholders, driving financial performance, operational discipline, and value creation initiatives that support a successful transaction and long-term scalability.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in private equity environments, technology/SaaS business models, and exit-readiness including due diligence, financial modelling, investor presentations, and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Value Creation

2. Partner with the CEO to define and execute the company's value creation plan.

3. Drive strategic initiatives around pricing, product investment, cost optimisation, and operational efficiency.
4. Assess market trends, competitive positioning, and revenue drivers to support data-driven strategic decisions.

5. Play a central role in articulating the company's equity story to prospective investors and buyers.

6. Exit Preparation & Transaction Support

7. Lead all financial components of the exit process (sale, recap, or IPO), including:

8. Preparation of the data room
9. Buyer/investor Q&A management
10. Due diligence coordination (financial, tax, legal, commercial, HR)
11. Building and validating financial models and forecasts
12. Partner with CEO, investment bankers, and advisors to drive a professional, well-organised process.

13. Ensure the business is positioned with clean financials, robust KPIs, and compelling growth narratives.

14. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Analysis

15. Own the company's budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.

16. Develop clear and actionable KPIs for SaaS and recurring revenue models (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, churn, cohort analysis).
17. Establish rigorous financial and operational reporting frameworks for internal and board use.

18. Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and operational predictability.

19. Accounting, Controls & Compliance

20. Accountable for all accounting, audit, and tax functions to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting.

21. Implement and enforce internal controls, policies, and systems appropriate for a scaled, investor-ready technology business.

22. Leadership & Team Building

23. Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team capable of supporting both day-to-day operations and transaction readiness.

24. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
25. Represent the company to external stakeholders including banks, insurance partners, auditors, and vendors.

Qualifications & Experience

• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including CFO or VP Finance roles.
• Proven success in a private equity backed company, through at least one successful exit.
• Experience in technology, SaaS, with deep knowledge of recurring revenue models.
• Mastery of financial modeling, KPIs, unit economics, and advanced analytics.
• Track record of building scalable financial infrastructure in high-growth environments.
• Exceptional communication and executive presence, including board-level interaction.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, results-driven culture.
