Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

on behalf of a global reinsurance group entering its next phase of international growth.

This appointment sits at the heart of the firm's transformation, embedding modern financial governance, capital optimisation, and data-driven decision-making across multiple jurisdictions. The CFO will act as a key partner to the CEO and executive leadership, shaping the Group's long-term financial direction and ensuring disciplined growth, transparency, and performance.

The Role

As Group CFO, you will oversee all aspects of financial strategy, capital management, and reporting across the Group's international operations. The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic influence; balancing solvency and profitability with investment in technology, scalability, and future-ready systems.

You will partner closely with the Chief Actuary, Chief Risk, and COO to strengthen financial resilience, drive transformation, and enhance shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Capital Management

• Define and execute the Group's financial strategy aligned with growth, solvency, and liquidity objectives.
• Advise the Board and Executive Committee on performance, capital allocation, and value creation.
• Lead forecasting, planning, and long-term capital management to support sustainable growth.
• Champion technology-enabled financial insight, data integrity, and predictive reporting.

Financial Control, Reporting & Governance

• Oversee compliance with IFRS 17, IFRS 9, and IFRS 15 across jurisdictions.
• Direct the Group's Solvency II framework, ensuring robust governance and optimisation of capital structures.
• Maintain high standards of financial control in line with GFSC/FCA-equivalent requirements.
• Manage external relationships with auditors, regulators, rating agencies, and financial partners.

Transformation & Modernisation

• Partner with the COO to deliver the Group's modernisation programme, embedding automation and scalable processes.
• Drive finance system upgrades and control enhancements across regions.
• Align finance transformation with digital and operational improvements.

Performance, Leadership & Development

• Collaborate with underwriting and regional finance teams to deliver accurate P&L, portfolio analytics, and expense insights.
• Establish consistent performance metrics and cost control frameworks.
• Build and mentor high-performing finance teams with technical excellence and leadership depth.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

• 10+ years of senior finance leadership within insurance or reinsurance (group or multi-jurisdictional level).
• Qualified Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) or equivalent; CGMA preferred.
• Proven expertise in IFRS 17 and Solvency II implementation.
• Track record in finance transformation, governance, and capital optimisation.
• Strong business-partnering skills with Board-level influence.
• Familiarity with GFSC, FCA, or comparable regulatory frameworks.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience supporting M&A, private equity partnerships, or international expansion.
• Exposure to financial systems modernisation and automation initiatives.
• Spanish fluency and comfort operating in Latin American contexts.
