Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker Full & Part-Time
Location: Carshalton (Lovely Home Setting)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Shifts: Must be able to commit to 12-hour shifts - Day Shifts (9am-9pm) OR Waking Night Shifts (9pm-9am) only.

Pinewood Residential Care has recently opened Beechwood House, a new, nurturing children's home in Carshalton for young people aged 8-16. We are looking for compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our dedicated team and help create a safe, supportive, and empowering home environment.
This is more than a job; it's a commitment to guiding and supporting young people, many of whom are looked after by social care, as they build their confidence, independence, and future.
The Role:
As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be central to the daily life and progress of our young people. Your primary focus will be providing high-quality care, emotional support, and practical guidance to help each individual thrive. You will ensure their safety, promote their development, and contribute to the warm, homely, and smooth-running environment of Beechwood House in Carshalton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and nurturing support to young people in a residential setting.
- Build positive, trusting, and respectful relationships, always prioritising the young person's wishes and feelings.
- Actively support young people to develop life skills, engage with education/training, and achieve personal goals through a person-centred approach.
- Uphold the highest safeguarding standards, following all policies, procedures, and relevant legislation (Children's Act 1989, National Minimum Standards, etc.).
- Maintain accurate records, write clear reports, and follow individual care plans.
- Attend to practical home duties such as preparing nutritious meals, light cleaning, and general maintenance to foster a stable home environment.
- Work effectively as part of a close-knit team, attending meetings, contributing to team development, and participating in regular supervision.
- Drive company vehicles (full UK driving licence required, subject to procedures).
About You – Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience working directly with children or young people in a care, support, or similar setting.
- A deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by vulnerable young people.
- A genuine passion for making a positive difference and a person-centred, empowering approach.
- Resilience, initiative, and proven skill in problem-solving and managing challenging situations sensitively.
- Firm knowledge and commitment to Safeguarding principles and practices.
- Ability to commit to a rolling rota of 12-hour day or night shifts as outlined above.
- Willingness to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare within 8 months of starting (support provided).
- Good IT skills (MS Office) and clear written communication for record-keeping.
- An Enhanced DBS check is required (we will apply for this).
