Job description

A supportive and inclusive school in Welwyn Garden City is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching & Learning Assistant to join their team on a long-term, temp-to-perm basis.

This role is ideal for someone experienced in SEMH support, behaviour mentoring, or SEND, who's ready to make a lasting difference in the classroom.

Your Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Help students regulate emotions and re-engage with learning using proven behaviour strategies
  • Support teachers in delivering an inclusive, engaging curriculum
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to promote both academic and emotional growth
What You'll Need:
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural challenges
  • A calm, confident, and empathetic approach under pressure
  • Full-time availability: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to commute to Welwyn Garden City
