The Bid and Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and producing high-quality bids and proposals, while leading marketing activity that positions the business to win work in the civil engineering sector. The role works closely with directors, project managers and estimators to convert opportunities into successful tenders and to strengthen the company's brand and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

- Bid Strategy & Development: Develop winning themes, identify opportunities, and manage the bid strategy to increase our chances of success. Coordinate inputs from technical, commercial and project delivery teams to develop compliant, compelling and commercially robust tender responses.
- Targets and Time Management: Own and manage the bid programme, including timelines, clarification questions, risk registers, document control and submission logistics (portals, hard copy, presentations).
- Ability to Bid Write: Take the lead and drive the bid writing content and narrative direction.
- Marketing and Proposal Materials: Take ownership of marketing and bid materials, ensuring they reflect our brand and meet client expectations. Produce marketing materials such as capability statements, brochures, newsletters and project profiles in collaboration with internal stakeholders and any external designers.
- Digital Marketing: Manage the company's digital presence (website, LinkedIn and other agreed channels), including content planning, posting and basic analytics reporting.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the Bid Writer, ensuring continuous development and upskilling within the team.
- Risk Management: Work closely with the commercial team to assess and manage risks related to tendering and bidding.
- Client Communication: Engage with clients, ensuring that all bid proposals meet their needs and showcase our capabilities.
Key Requirements:

- Civil Engineering Knowledge: Familiarity with civil engineering projects and processes is advantageous but not essential.
