Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to food safety. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that our culinary standards are met while fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Duties

  • Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily food preparation activities.
  • Assist in menu planning and the development of new recipes.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food safety practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the management to manage kitchen operations efficiently.
  • Provide excellent hospitality by ensuring timely service during peak hours.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting.
  • Supervising experience with a focus on team management and leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
