Taxation is a constantly changing and high-profile field. Claritas Tax are the UK's largest independent specialist tax advisory firm with offices in Birmingham, Manchester, London, Nottingham, Glasgow and Bristol. We work with the directors and owners of businesses, private equity firms, venture capitalists and high net worth individuals to help them achieve their commercial and personal objectives. We are a tightly knit team working closely together and we have more than doubled in size in the last 3 years. We have been running our graduate programme for 11 years and we are currently recruiting to fill our next graduate roles due to the success of our previous graduates. You will be based in either our Birmingham or Manchester office and you will be:

  • An integral part of a growing firm, helping to deliver tax advisory projects (see our website for more information on the types of work we do, (Our Services - Claritas Tax)
  • Assisting with tax research
  • Meeting clients in a support role to the senior team
  • Assisting with tax compliance (both corporate and personal taxes)
  • Experiencing different areas of work during your training period via our Seat Rotation program, where you will work within a specific service line (Mergers and Acquisitions Tax, Business Tax Planning and Advisory, Corporation Tax Compliance, Personal Tax, Equity Reward & Valuations) for a 6-month period for each Seat

Training and development

We are an ICAEW Authorised Training Employer and as part of your programme, you will study two chartered qualifications: the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and the ACA qualification provided by the ICAEW. This is an advanced programme that will provide you with the opportunity to develop both your business and technical skills. Should you be eligible, you will also achieve the government-recognised Level 7 Apprenticeship qualification, developing essential soft skills (non-technical) sought in the professional services sector.

You will begin studying towards your first professional exams soon after joining, instantly developing knowledge that will support your work in tax. Through tuition via an acclaimed provider, and a qualified team with the same experience, you will have the best support and resources to study for these exams, gaining the tax knowledge, accountancy skills and real-world business experience to jumpstart your career in tax.

You will have a tailored training and ongoing coaching and development plan through your training and beyond.

You will join with your own personal support network, including a buddy to offer first-hand experience. You'll receive guidance and support each step of the way to make sure you have everything you need to realise your potential from day one.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

We're looking for ambitious, analytical graduates who are great with numbers, communication, and report writing. If you're a problem solver with a genuine interest in tax and a commitment to qualifying as both a Chartered Tax Adviser and Chartered Accountant, we'd love to hear from you. Team players who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment will fit right in.
