The Consultant, Tax Technology ("Consultant") provides tax automation services to Fortune 1000 clients by performing detail requirements analysis, process design, configuration, installation, and implementation of tax automation business and system processes for enterprise applications; as well as works with a team to identify tax savings opportunities for clients and to gain an understanding of how the client computes each component of the sales and use tax and/or indirect taxes. This includes researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations.

Ideally looking for candidates in the London area, but open to UK-wide applicants. While the role can be primarily remote, please expect occasional office travel when needed.

Client:

  • Assists with the creation of client deliverable documentation, including creating, composing, and editing written materials.
  • Assists with the data gathering, extraction, and analysis of client data.
  • Assists the team with client data acquisition to support tax technology services as required.
  • Travels to client locations to gather data, tax returns, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation as necessary for use in the tax technology deployment process.
  • Assist managers in the execution of tax technology automation project activities, including analysis, configuration, testing, and implementation.

Value:

  • Analyzes existing business and system processes to provide recommendations for implementing tax automation.
  • Develops new process designs for tax determination.
  • Determines and documents business and system processes performed for tax determination and works with clients to help review, define, and document existing transaction tax processes.
  • Installs and configures tax automation software solutions, implements indirect tax automation software, and assists with day-to-day project management duties.
  • Creates, executes, and documents testing scenarios.
  • Reviews documentation and researches issues.
  • Uses computerized spreadsheets, relational databases, word processing software, and computer programming software.
  • Processes computer data to format and generate reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Accounting, or Accounting Information Systems.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
