Northampton, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom cb1c3984-2ebb-4806-8a8c-cf96e4234929 Full time £22,000 - £27,000 per year

Are you looking to work in a children's home that is committed to making a positive and lasting difference to children's lives? We are looking for responsible, caring and fun individuals to join our team.

We are welcoming applicants into our Irchester home in Northampton as we increase the size of our existing team.

This is an exciting time for us. We are also in the process of taking our third home in Kilsby, Rugby through the Registration process with a view to be operational in the near future.

We recently began a partnership with a local psychotherapy service and are keen to see what this brings to our homes. We provide care and support for children and young people aged between four and eighteen with emotional and behavioural difficulties and learning disabilities. You will join our wider and frankly 'brilliant' staff team based across our Ofsted rated 'good' children's homes, and be supported by an excellent Manager. You will be working with, and safeguarding children and young people within your role as a Residential Care Worker. This is a great opportunity to start or continue your career in social care, working as part of a team committed to helping young people who have experienced trauma or caring for children with learning disabilities.

Within your role as Residential Care Worker your day to day tasks may include promoting education, sports, encouraging clubs, supporting young people with their hobbies such as biking, attending theme parks, gaming, cooking, arts and crafts, promoting life skills and being a positive role model to our young people.

This role involves accurate record keeping, therefore a level of computer literacy is essential for the role. Whilst it is not essential that you have experience in this specific role, we are really keen to identify applicants with some experience of working with children or young people. As a small company, we have clear progression plans and can support you with the development you need to become a Senior Residential Support Worker, Deputy Manager or Registered Manager.

Full training will be provided. You will either be already qualified, or willing to work towards your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

As an equal opportunities employer we would welcome applications from all under represented groups and are especially keen to create a gender balanced environment for our young people.

About us: DPC is a specialist provider of accommodation and support for young people countrywide. We have provided social care services to young people for over 20 years and pride ourselves on being able to work with a variety of clients as well as offering our staff an environment in which they can progress within the company and achieve their career goals.

To keep change and disruption in the home to a minimum, our shift pattern requires adults to arrive to the home on the morning of their shift where they will support our children throughout the day, staying overnight and completing their shift and handing over to the new team the following morning. Adults complete a three week rolling work pattern incorporating 7 shifts over this period which roughly equates to a 40 hour working week.

Please note that this role involves working with children and young people and therefore all successful applicants will be subject to a fully Enhanced DBS and reference checks to ensure suitability for this role.
