TTP is an employee-owned technology and product development consultancy, with a 40-year track record of helping ambitious clients solve complex challenges and bring innovative, commercially successful solutions to market.
We invent, design, and manufacture impactful products and technologies across a wide range of industries - including healthcare, life science, energy, and communications - and at the intersection of biology, physical science and engineering.
Our working culture encourages entrepreneurship, shared ideas and technical collaboration, while providing you with the freedom to do your best work.
Job DescriptionJoin our Omics team as a Consultant and help shape the future of genomic and proteomic analysis. Our work addresses real-world challenges in precision medicine, synthetic biology, advanced therapy manufacturing, agricultural biotechnology, and more - projects that are scientifically ambitious, commercially valuable, and socially impactful.
You'll contribute to the design and development of next-generation tools - from novel assays and consumables to integrated benchtop instruments.
You'll be involved throughout the innovation lifecycle: shaping project proposals, leading and contributing to technical workstreams, and engaging directly with clients. Each project offers the chance to dive into new scientific domains, develop project leadership and client relationship skills, and deliver transformative technology to market. You'll also build a strong industry presence across the life science instrumentation landscape.
QualificationsWe're seeking an exceptional scientist who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment and has a passion for developing new tools for biology and diagnostics.
You will have:
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. physics, biophysics, chemistry or bioengineering)
- Industry or post-doctoral experience in developing novel life sciences instrumentation preferred (e.g. in the fields of bio-analytics, molecular computing, sequencing technologies, spatial genomics, proteomics)
You are:
- A self-starter with a strong sense of personal responsibility
- Intellectually curious and eager to explore new perspectives
- Strategic, with the ability to see the big picture and anticipate challenges and opportunities
- Entrepreneurial and adaptable, comfortable taking calculated risks and navigating a dynamic environment
- Excited about the commercial potential of technology development, especially in genomics and proteomics
- A collaborative relationship-builder who influences without authority and energises others around shared goals
TTP operates from an award-winning campus in green surroundings, just south of Cambridge.

- Virtual shares that reward you with a stake in TTP Group's long-term success
- 10% employer pension contribution
