Our client, a leading Hedge Fund is seeking an experienced
Fund Controller
to lead all aspects of fund accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance for our hedge fund vehicles. This role sits at the centre of fund operations and is 5 days per week in the office - London based.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & NAV Oversight

  • Oversee daily, weekly and monthly NAV preparation with third-party fund administrators.
  • Review P&L, reconciliations, trial balances, and investor allocations.
  • Coordinate and review audited financial statements prepared under UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of performance fees/incentive allocations.

Valuations & Product Coverage

  • Work closely with the investment and risk teams on valuation of complex macro instruments (rates, FX, derivatives, credit, commodities).
  • Monitor pricing sources, valuation methodologies and fair-value adjustments in line with internal policies.

Regulatory & Tax Compliance

  • Coordinate with auditors and tax advisers on annual audits and tax filings (UK, offshore jurisdictions).
  • Ensure compliance with FCA requirements, AIFMD, FATCA/CRS, and other global regulations.
  • Maintain robust internal controls, policies and procedures around fund finance.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) preferred.
  • 4–8+ years' fund accounting or product control experience with hedge funds or fund administrators or investment banking, strong understanding of macro/multi-asset strategies.
  • Familiarity with UK and offshore fund structures (OEICs, unit trusts, Cayman SPCs, Irish ICAVs).
  • Expertise in derivative instruments, margining, and collateral management.
  • Knowledge of FCA, AIFMD, FATCA/CRS, and UK regulatory landscape.
