Hereford Contract Canning is a fast-growing and ambitious contract canning business, proudly partnering with leading drinks brands. Following continued investment and the acquisition of new customers, we are expanding our operations and looking to recruit Laboratory Technicians to join our dedicated QA team.

Reporting into the QA Manager, these roles offer variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work across multiple analytical functions that directly support our production operations.

You will carry out analytical testing, interpret results, maintain laboratory equipment and help ensure that our products consistently meet the highest standards of product safety, legality and quality.

We are recruiting for technicians on the following patterns:

  • Days: Monday – Friday, , with flexibility to cover shifts when required.
  • Continental Panama Shift Pattern: / rotating

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Perform analysis of products, raw material and services using established analytical techniques
  • Interpret, record and report test results accurately to internal and external stakeholders
  • Calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
  • Follow the HCC schedule of analysis and ensure tests are completed within agreed timeframes
  • Conduct internal audits in line with the audit schedule and Company procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the Quality System
  • Ensure compliance with customer procedures, specifications and the relevant standards
  • Support the smooth and safe daily operation of the laboratories
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to support quality standards
  • Coach and support production, process and engineering technicians in QC techniques where required
  • Coordinate the sending of samples to external laboratories and customers

Required Skills:

  • Secondary school qualifications in Science and Mathematics or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience working in an analytical or QC laboratory
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and a responsible approach to work
  • Computer literate with competence in Microsoft 365 applications
  • Positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Experience operating a HPLC is preferred.
