As we expand, we are looking for an ambitious and strategic Head of Sales to lead our B2B commercial growth.
The Role: Your Mission
As the Head of Sales, you will be the driving force behind our B2B revenue. You will be responsible for developing and executing a sophisticated sales strategy that targets high-value corporate and public sector clients.
Your mission is to expand our impact by connecting businesses with our cutting-edge Digital & Green Skills programmes, from bespoke on-site training to our highly successful publicly-funded Apprenticeships and Skills Bootcamps provision. This is a player-coach role for someone who excels at high-level strategy and hands-on, consultative selling.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Leadership: Design and execute a B2B sales strategy to achieve ambitious revenue targets, focusing on enterprise accounts and key growth sectors (e.g., Tech, Finance, Public Sector).
- Marketing & Lead Generation: Develop and optimise lead generation strategies including direct outreach, inbound content marketing and paid advertising.
- Team Management & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and scale our sales team. Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Enterprise Account Sales: Personally own and manage the full sales cycle for high-value enterprise accounts. Confidently lead consultative discussions, diagnose complex skill gaps, and position bespoke, accredited training solutions.
- Pipeline & Process: Implement and refine scalable sales processes. Manage the team's pipeline, ensuring accuracy in forecasting and reporting directly to the Group CEO.
- Funding Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the UK skills funding landscape (e.g., Skills Bootcamps, Apprenticeships). Integrate funding opportunities into your sales strategy as a key value proposition for clients.
- Market Insight: Act as the voice of the customer. Stay abreast of Digital & Green Skills trends, client needs, and the competitive landscape to inform our programme co-design and marketing strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Division to develop accurate customer profiles to aid lead generation and conversion and with our Operations Division to ensure a seamless client handover and exceptional delivery.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven B2B Sales Leadership: A demonstrable track record of success in a sales management role (Sales Manager, Head of Sales etc.).
- Relevant Industry Experience: You must have significant experience selling B2B services, ideally within the accredited training, technical learning, or HR/L&D solutions sector.
- Lead Generation Experience: Evidenceable success in hands-on lead generation activities including social and direct outreach, e.g. sales intelligence platforms (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Cognism, Zoominfo, Apollo) and boots-on-the-ground approaches (field sales, conferences and trade shows).
- 'Player-Coach' Mentality: You are as comfortable coaching a team member as you are presenting a six-figure, multi-year training proposal to a C-suite executive.
- Consultative Solution Selling: A master of a consultative sales approach, capable of diagnosing complex organisational skill gaps and positioning high-value training solutions (e.g., Digital Skills, Sustainability, Project Management).
- Strategic & Data-Driven: You can build a strategic sales plan from scratch and use data (via CRM) to forecast accurately, manage performance, and identify new opportunities.
- UK Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK B2B corporate and public sector training market.
Highly Desirable
- B2B Marketing Strategies: Exposure to or experience implementing B2B marketing strategies including Paid Advertising, Content, and Inbound Marketing.
- Understanding of UK Skills Funding: Demonstrable experience with the UK's skills funding landscape (e.g., Skills Bootcamps, Apprenticeship Levy) is a significant advantage.
- Existing Network: A strong existing network of senior contacts within HR, L&D, or Technology departments in UK enterprises.
