We are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our busy community pharmacy team in Leicester. Overseas applicants are warmly welcomed – we are a licensed sponsor able to offer Tier 2 (Skilled Worker) visa sponsorship to eligible candidates who meet UK visa requirements. You will play a key role in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing services while providing excellent customer care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist, including checked and labelled medicines
  • Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed items (ACP-qualified technicians only)
  • Prepare and assemble monitored dosage systems (MDS) and compliance aids
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and date checking of medicines
  • Process NHS prescriptions, endorsements, and submissions via the EPS system
  • Provide advice to patients on over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and minor ailments
  • Support pharmacy services including flu vaccinations, NMS, CPCS, smoking cessation, and Pharmacy First
  • Handle controlled drugs (CDs) in line with SOPs and legal requirements
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records (PMR) and ensure confidentiality
  • Assist with daily pharmacy administration and audits

Requirements

  • Qualified Pharmacy Technician with a recognised international qualification (e.g., BTEC, PTCB, or equivalent from your home country)
  • Willingness and eligibility to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician in the UK (we provide full support with the registration process)
  • Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification – desirable
  • At least 1 year of community or hospital pharmacy experience (international experience considered)
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, SOPs, and clinical governance (UK training provided)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills (English language proficiency: IELTS 7.0 overall or equivalent required for visa/GPhC)
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in pharmacy IT systems (training provided on UK systems e.g., ProScript, Pharmaself, Nexus, Cegedim)
  • Eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship (no current UK work restrictions, meet salary threshold, and pass English language requirements)

  • Full assistance with GPhC registration and OSPAP/top-up training if required
