Garon Park Golf Complex is one of Southend's leading sports and leisure destinations, owned by the Norman Garon Trust — a local charity dedicated to improving community life through sport, wellbeing, and charitable initiatives. Our facilities include a busy golf complex with a clubhouse, driving range, café, and event spaces that serve golfers, visitors, and community groups throughout the year.
We are now looking for an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our team and play a key role in delivering a high-quality, welcoming experience across our food and beverage operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of all F&B outlets across the site — including our café, bar, events, and hospitality functions. You'll lead by example, ensuring great service standards, operational efficiency, and a positive, team-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in the daily management of the bar, and event operations.
- Supervise and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist with staff rotas, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations.
- Support with stock management, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of functions and events.
- Help drive sales and profitability through excellent service and efficient operations.
About You
You'll have a passion for hospitality, great people skills, and the ability to lead by example. You'll be reliable, organised, and keen to contribute to a community-focused venue with a strong sense of purpose.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in food & beverage or hospitality.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A hands-on approach and ability to thrive in a busy environment.
- Basic understanding of stock control and cash handling.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and events.
Desirable:
- Experience in golf, leisure, or community venues.
