An ambitious and experienced Head of Science is required to lead a thriving department within an Outstanding Mixed school in Enfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of science education across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, inspiring both students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and management for the Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement an engaging and challenging Science curriculum that fosters a love of scientific inquiry.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and attainment of students in Science, implementing effective intervention strategies.
  • Line manage and support the professional development of teachers and technicians within the Science department.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in one of the sciences.
  • Proven experience of successfully teaching Science at the secondary level, including A-Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a clear vision for science education.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
