We're looking for dedicated, compassionate, and adaptable 1:1 Support Staff (INAs) to work in mainstream primary schools in Brighton , supporting children with severe and complex additional needs .

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact, helping children thrive both academically and emotionally in an inclusive environment.

The Role

As a 1:1 Support Assistant, you'll:

  • Provide tailored, individual support for a child with significant additional needs (learning, social, or physical).
  • Help the child engage positively with classroom learning and daily routines.
  • Implement and follow individual education and care plans (IEPs/EHCPs) .
  • Support with personal care , emotional regulation , and behaviour management where required.
  • Adapt activities and communication to suit the child's needs.
  • Liaise closely with teachers, SENCOs, and outside professionals to track progress.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social inclusion.
  • Be flexible and proactive, assisting across the classroom or school when needed.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking candidates who are:

  • Experienced in supporting children with SEND or complex needs (ideally in a school setting).
  • Calm, patient, and resilient , able to respond positively to challenges.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff.
  • The Ideal candidate needs to be confident with personal care, mobility support, or medical needs (training provided). Preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of autism, communication delays, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs preferred but not essential.
