About the Role

Provide Planner/Scheduler function projects include advanced planning, scheduling, progress measurement, change management implementation and analysis. Provide expertise and best practice implementation aligned with the PMO guidance regarding the planning and scheduling discipline, co-ordinating with the client and contractor schedulers, as well as the wider controls team and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement programme and project planning & scheduling strategy, plans and procedures for the projects, reflecting organisational and contractor roles, responsibilities and expectations.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the project WBS and CBS in consultation with PMO, Project Team and contractor project controls leads, and in conjunction with Project Execution Plans.
  • Support Delivery Planning and PMO in the implementation of an integrated enterprise-based, cross-functional and programme life cycle master schedule, providing schedule information as required.
  • Promote and maintain overall alignment and integration with contractor schedules within the programme suite of project schedules.
  • Review and promote contractor schedule quality and integrity per industry best practices and programme requirements, reviewing adequacy for project control and reporting.
  • Work with project teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the schedules.
  • Support coordination and interface activities in relation to planning and schedule management.
  • Support project leads in building a "One Team" approach with contractors.
  • Update project schedules according to the drumbeat with the Project Lead and project team, aligned to contractor information, and using internal and external stakeholder insight.
  • Conduct schedule critical path and risk analysis. Undertake time and progress trend analysis, forecast analysis, and schedule accuracy reviews highlighting bottlenecks and delays; propose corrective actions.
  • Identify and report variances to contractor schedules, both in-period and against baseline; quantify variance and evaluate impacts, explaining causal links.
  • Where required, carry out independent forecast analysis and compare it to contractor schedules.
  • Support project leadership with strategic time and progress analysis.
  • Provide useful, timely and accurate schedule information to the project team and other users. Support preparation of the Integrated Monthly Project Report and specific reports/presentations.
  • Change management: review proposed baseline changes, prepare scenario and impact analysis. Ensure the project baseline is updated per approved changes and aligns to the programme baseline.

Essential Skills

  • A minimum of 5+ years project controls and time/schedule management experience.
  • A minimum of 5+ years in similar project and programme experience.
  • Experience providing a similar role in a major, complex projects within a programme environment
  • Expert experience level using Primavera P6
  • Understanding of policies, methods, and procedures that includes Planning and Scheduling techniques including Earned Value Management, Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and support of project objectives.

12 month FTC
