What You'll Do
To be part of a small, dedicated team in VBSE managing predominantly transmission-based networks and providing operational support. You will be responsible for owning the relationship with the stakeholders, supporting both technical and stakeholder needs to understand their requirements. This role requires a passionate individual who can work effectively with the team to drive an excellent service.

  • Manage dedicated services for key VBSE stakeholders
  • Work effectively with stakeholders in relation to the deployment and ongoing support for given projects
  • Perform regular audits on the networks and systems
  • Make innovative recommendations to VBSE management/stakeholders to drive improvements
  • Work closely with the project team to provide regular updates
  • Carry out analytical diagnostics on the network
  • Liaise with wider parties to coordinate the end-end process Point of contact for any major incidents and carry out problem management, escalating when necessary

Who You Are

  • Be able to maintain confidentiality and hold security clearance
  • A clear and analytical approach to problem management
  • The ability to work in a high pressurised environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills such as
  • basic network configuration of the Ciena/Photonic Cross Connects,
  • trouble shooting and fault finding
  • Understanding of Transmission equipment and networks such as Ciena
  • Telco, Network Operations background/qualifications is desired
  • Understanding of ITIL working practices
  • Basic concept of IP networking, switching and routing
