Job Overview:

Greens Norton & Weedon Medical Practice (GNWMP) are seeking a highly organised, proactive Senior Administrator to support the Administration Manager in the day-to-day supervision, motivation and development of our busy reception team. This is a key role within the practice, ensuring the smooth delivery of patient-facing services and the highest standards of administrative support to the clinical and management teams.

Working across both sites, we are looking for someone to work 37.5 hours across 5 days either starting at 0745 hrs or finishing at 1830 hrs (to be advised).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Team leadership & supervision:

  • Working as part of a team of 3, provide clear leadership, day-to-day supervision and guidance to the reception team.
  • Ensure all reception duties are carried out accurately, efficiently and in line with practice standards.
  • Support the Administration Manager with rota planning, performance monitoring, training and ongoing team development.
  • Foster a positive, supportive and collaborative team culture.

Quality, compliance & practice values:

  • Support the management team in promoting ED&I, SHEF, quality improvement, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to improving systems and processes to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the practice team to uphold organisational values.

Reception & patient services:

  • Undertake a wide range of reception duties, acting as a central point of contact for patients.
  • Coordinate the effective distribution of information, messages and enquiries to clinicians and wider team members.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including secondary care, community services and other agencies, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up.

Administrative support:

  • Provide high-quality administrative support to the multidisciplinary team as required.
  • Assist with patient registration , appointment booking and accurate processing of electronic and paper-based information.
  • Ensure all administrative task are completed promptly and in line with practice policies and confidentiality requirements.

About Greens Norton & Weedon Medical Practice - We have circa 14,700 patients, cared for by an effective, dedicated, and comprehensive primary healthcare team, which includes GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacist, Social Prescriber, Paramedics & Reception / Administration team.
