We support the individuals we work with to manage or overcome challenges, including age-related issues, alcohol and drug addictions, autism spectrum disorders, complex needs, homelessness, learning disabilities and mental health issues.

We work with people in their own homes, assisting them to do the things that matter to them and realise their ambitions. We believe that great support leads to great lives.

About you

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated individual who has the desire to support people to have the best life possible. Those with high empathy and tolerance, along with a great sense of humour, are key to success in what, at times, can be a challenging but rewarding role. The successful individual requires to have the passion, drive and dedication in helping others to live fulfilling lives. Experience of Support and Care, specifically Homelessness would be desirable, although not essential.

Although we offer flexible working contracts, we also require a degree of flexibility in your approach to work and it is essential you have availability to work shifts, including weekend working and evenings.

Job Description

In this role, you will become part of the support team ensuring a high quality of care and support is delivered to individuals within the Kirkcaldy area. You will be supporting people who experience long term homelessness in our Hunter house accommodation to build tenancy skills and maintain their settled accommodation. The role is centred around understanding the day-to-day challenges faced by people, including homelessness, addictions, substance misuse and mental health issues.

You will also be working as part of the assertive outreach team to support people affected by or threatened with homelessness, so there is a requirement for you to drive, have a car for work and be willing to use your car to transport service users to activities. The expense of using your car will be reimbursed at a rate of 55p per mile.

The role is primarily centred around understanding and supporting the day to day living of the service users. Working within this service the successful individual requires to have the passion, drive and dedication in helping others to live fulfilling lives.

  • 32 days annual leave entitlement (pro rata)
  • An Employee Assistance Programme, including a free counselling service
  • Discounted Gym membership
  • Access to the Vivup employee benefits platform
  • Enhanced family friendly pay entitlements
  • Generous Pension Scheme
  • PVG applications NOW paid by KSC.

Requirements

  • This post is subject to a PVG Disclosure check.

Interviews

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 13 January 2026 in our Hunter House service office, in Kirkcaldy.

Kingdom is committed to contributing towards the eradication of homelessness. As part of that, we particularly welcome applications from people who are currently registered homeless or have been in the last 12 months. We will guarantee shortlisting to any applicant who meets that criteria and the essential criteria for the vacancy. If we offer you the role and you are homeless at that point, we will also offer you a tenancy in one of our properties as part of the Naumann Initiative. If you wish your application to be considered under the scheme, please state this under "Supporting information" on your application form.
