*About The Role:*
As a Street Cleansing Operations Manager, you will play a key role in managing and delivering high-quality street cleansing services across the borough. You'll lead a diverse operational team, ensuring effective performance, legal compliance, and excellent customer satisfaction.

You'll work closely with the Neighbourhood Street Scene management team and colleagues to develop service strategies, improve operations, manage resources, and represent the Council at community and stakeholder meetings.

*Key Responsibilities:*

  • Oversee street cleansing operations including manual and mechanical services.
  • Supervise and support Area Supervisors and frontline staff.
  • Handle complaints and ensure timely resolution with excellent customer care.
  • Manage health and safety standards, risk assessments, and environmental compliance.
  • Monitor fleet maintenance and respond to equipment/vehicle issues.
  • Drive continuous service improvement and performance management.
  • Collaborate with enforcement and community engagement teams.
  • Deputise for the Street Cleansing Manager when required.
  • Oversee compliance of the small Waste Transfer Station at Ley Street Depot used by the Street Cleansing service only.

*What We're Looking For:*

  • Proven leadership in an operational setting.
  • Knowledge of street cleansing, waste or other operational services in a different field. Service area knowledge is ideal, but transferrable skills, a can-do attitude and eagerness to learn strongly encouraged.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety, and relevant legislation and interest to learn more.
  • Interest in environmental protection and improvement.
  • Ability to manage budgets, plan rotas, and respond to service demands.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and people management skills.
  • Experience using IT systems and keen to learn new ones.
  • A full category B driving licence.
  • Have a WAMITAB qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining Level 4 MROC award.
