We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Lead for Street Cleansing and Pest Control to join the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Street Cleansing and Pest Control, ensuring efficient and effective planning, operational management, delivery, maintenance and support for the services' objectives borough wide. You will lead a dedicated team, develop projects, implement improvement plans, and work closely with various stakeholders to enhance our street cleansing and pest control services meeting environmental targets and delivering exemplary services. Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and managing the Street Cleansing and Pest Control teams to deliver high-quality exemplary services.
• Implementing street cleansing and pest management strategies, policies and managing projects.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Managing budgets and resources effectively, providing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Engaging with the community and stakeholders to promote street cleansing and pest control initiatives.
• Monitoring and reporting on service performance and environmental impact.
Special requirements for this post
Key qualifications and skills:
• Extensive experience Street Cleansing and Pest Management or a related field.
• BCPA Level 2 Certificate in Pest Management
• NEBOSH/IOSH and COSHH Management
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of environmental legislation and best practices.
• Strong financial management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in Street Cleansing and Pest Management with a proven track record of leadership within a similar diverse and inclusive environment. You should be passionate about sustainability and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. The demands of this post will require a person who works well under pressure and to deadlines. We are looking for someone to have a BCPA level 2 Certificate in Pest Management, or where this is not held, if we feel there is a suitable candidate without this qualification, we may consider a development opportunity and offer the position but with the requirement to achieve this within 12 months of appointment
