Clearwater Care Home are always keen to hear from Night Shift Residential Workers who are looking for an opportunity that will allow them to help make a real difference to children we support. We also want people who are committed to developing their own professional skills and ability. This is supported by a variety of training opportunities including safeguarding, communication and after 6 months you will be expected to complete your Children's level 3 diploma due to legal requirements.

Our new residential home caters for children from 10 to 17 years and will be inspected regularly by OFSTED and we aim to be judged as either 'Good' or 'Outstanding' or are working towards it. We are very proud of the quality of our residential services for children in within our company. As a result we have invested in our home and staff and plan to continue this, in order to achieve a service that is ambitious, innovative and responsive to the needs of young people in our care.

Our residential settings for EBD children and young people will strive to be successful in supporting young people who have had difficulties during their past and have had suffered abuse or trauma.

As a Residential Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

· Working and supporting children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence.

· Direct practical interactions with children and young people

· Night Shift only

· Working to a high standard in line with OFSTED inspection framework requirements including working towards the quality standards for children's homes of which you should have an understanding.

· Engage delivery of care plans.

· Working in partnership with other agencies.

· Report writing

In summary we are looking for people who like to have fun and enjoy the company of children and young people. Have an understanding of Autism, ADHD, children who have been exploited or suffered abuse anxiety and the challenging behaviours that this can present. Have a desire to make a difference and a passion to support children and young people to achieve their dreams.

Additional information

· An NVQ3/Diploma or equivalent In Children and Young People or be willing to enrol and work towards its completion (to be completed no more than two years after commencing work in the post).

· An ability to demonstrate an understanding of some of the issues of children and young people in care.

· Aspirations to "make a difference" to a child and their families.

· To engage actively and go the extra mile.

· Must attend all in house courses and training as designated to them to enable them to be equipped with the skills and knowledge of theory and practice.

Salary : dependent on experience and qualifications.

Candidates must be 21 years and older due to new regulations.
