About the Role
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you'll be joining a collaborative and experienced commercial team, gaining hands-on experience in cost management, procurement, and project finance. You'll support senior colleagues while building the technical and professional skills needed for a rewarding career in quantity surveying and construction engineering.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Cost & Budget Assistance: Helping prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and project budgets.
- Tender & Procurement Support: Assisting with the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of contractor bids.
- Financial Tracking: Monitoring project costs, tracking expenses, and supporting invoice and final account preparation.
- Contract Administration: Assisting with the management of project contracts and ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
- Data & Reporting: Gathering and analysing project data to support cost planning and financial reporting.
- Risk Management: Helping identify financial risks and opportunities for cost efficiencies.
- Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Compliance: Supporting the team in meeting legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
About You
You'll be an enthusiastic and motivated graduate looking to launch your career in quantity surveying within the construction engineering sector.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Understanding of cost estimation, variations, and payment applications
- Familiarity with relevant software packages (e.g. Excel, estimating or cost management tools)
- Some industry experience, either through employment or an industrial placement
