Role Description

This is a freelance, on-site role based in London for a Pattern Cutter Assistant at Nicholas Oakwell Couture. The Pattern Cutter Assistant will support the pattern-cutting team in creating precise and high-quality patterns for couture garments. Daily tasks include assisting in the preparation and cutting of garments, working closely with designers to ensure design accuracy, marking and labeling fabrics, and supporting in fittings. The role will require adherence to the house's exceptional standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Strong pattern cutting skills and knowledge of garment construction techniques
  • Experience working with luxury or couture fabrics
  • Proficiency in fabric handling, lay planning, and cutting practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with design and workroom teams
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results
  • Relevant experience or education in fashion, design, or pattern cutting
