Bodmin PL, United Kingdom -4bf2-4c45-8214-65c9669a7a93 Full time £26,565 per year

ABOUT US

The Women's Centre Cornwall has grown from its early roots as a Rape Crisis Centre into an innovative, award-winning feminist organisation which provides a wide range of services for women and girls in our communities. Our work with survivors of sexual and domestic violence is our core specialism as we believe that there can be no real gender equality without a complete cessation of violence against women. In addition, we provide community-based activities across Cornwall and support women ex-offenders across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and HMP Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire.

PURPOSE

We are looking to appoint a multi-skilled Women's Practitioner to work across several of our projects. This important role will assist us in providing much needed cover when extra capacity is needed and enable us to ensure women's support is continued. Work will primarily be within our Criminal Justice Service as well as Outreach and Trauma Stabilisation Projects.

Qualifications and Experience

It is desirable to have a relevant degree and/or recognised professional qualification in social care or a related field and/or accredited Domestic Abuse training. However at least one year's experience of direct work with women with complex needs and/or survivors of domestic abuse and/or sexual violence. The ability to undertake risk assessments, safety planning and providing support and targeted intervention is equally relevant. Knowledge of the criminal justice system as well as Trauma Stabilisation is very advantageous.

Full driving license and the ability to travel is essential.

Work will be in the Cornwall area.

Closing date for applications is 9am, Friday 28th November 2025

The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and police vetting and open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).

TWCC values diversity and welcomes applicants from all sections of the community, especially from women with lived experience of the issues we address, and groups with a protected characteristic such as Black, Asian and minority ethnic women, who are currently under-represented at TWCC.
