Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our esteemed establishment.

The operation is a hotel with rooms and a considerable conference and banqueting operation on site, catering for weddings, meetings, dinners and conferences. The role involves overseeing a site with F&B outlets, banqueting and meetings on site with new and existing clients and so the role will encompass a strong mix of sales and operations in order to get this property trading profitably. This role provides a great opportunity to grow the business in a corporate capacity as well as managing the needs of returning clients and individuals with weddings etc. You will have an entrepreneurial flair, an ideas background and a strong management style that can develop the team on site in terms of service offer.

Financially strong you should be able to manage the budgets effectively and so hence all the skills of a Hotel General Manager come to fruition. This is a great chance to join a developing company who are due to grow further and so opportunities are available to build on this.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service while maintaining a productive and efficient work environment. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for supervising staff, managing guest services, and implementing strategies to enhance the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all operations, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage the front of house team, cleaning, and maintenance departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee human resources functions including recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and care.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control measures.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote f&b services and special events.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as hotel policies.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and employee engagement.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of supervising diverse teams effectively.
  • Excellent guest service skills with a commitment to enhancing the guest experience.
  • A background in human resources or training within the hospitality sector is beneficial.
