Buyer Opportunity

My client is a long-established, building services engineering contractor. On the back off continued project wins across major UK construction schemes, including large-scale Ministry of Justice projects, the company are now seeking a Buyer. Working as part of a team of 17, you'll play a key role in supporting materials procurement and supply chain coordination across multiple live sites.

As a Buyer, you will take responsibility for:

  • Supporting the procurement and supply of materials and plant for multiple construction projects.
  • Raising and managing purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to site.
  • Assisting with invoice processing and resolving any related queries.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain a reliable supply chain.
  • Liaising closely with project teams to anticipate material needs and address on-site challenges.
  • Maintaining accurate records and assisting with procurement reports and cost tracking.

Buyer Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a procurement, supply chain, or buying role within construction or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of materials procurement processes.
  • Proven ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Good attention to detail with strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Confidence in working closely with site teams and exposure to live project environments.
  • IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.

Other Desirable skills include:

  • Relevant training / qualifications or willingness to acquire them
  • Experience with plant procurement would be advantageous.
