We're looking for an exceptional Used Car Buyer to join our fast-growing team at Select Car Shop, helping to transform the way people buy used cars and making buying a car no different to buying any other product online today.

We’re looking for a dynamic data-centric buyer to join the Select car shop purchasing team.

Data is at the core of our business and we want to take a data-driven approach to how we buy our cars with a constant focus on improvement and efficiency.

It's not just about volume though, the role of a buyer at Select car shop is to help us acquire the best cars available to the unique specification at the best price from auctions, fleet sales, finance companies, rental companies and dealer groups.

What you’ll be doing:

- The role involves purchasing vehicles for Select Car Shop working across various platforms.
- Maintaining and building relationships with vendors and auction houses.
- Collaborating with other buying and pricing team members to maximise our data use alongside what is happening in an auction sale.
- Working closely with the senior purchasing manager, other used car buyers and data analysts to ensure we are optimising volume, quality, margin and stock turn.
- Ensuring vehicles purchased, meet our strict specifications and making sure our returns % is low and that the refurb costs are aligned to budget
- Identifying new opportunities for improvement within our purchasing model and approach
- As a key member of the buying team, you will demonstrate a professional, respectful, inclusive and collaborative approach.

Required skills and experience:

- Competent in using Google Sheets/Excel, Looker, PowerPoint or similar services
- Knowledge of car specifications across a wide breadth of manufactures would be beneficial.
- An understanding of vehicle preparation would be beneficial.
- The ability to negotiate using data and current market conditions.
- A willingness to learn and work with data
- Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working at pace and to multiple deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to deal with ambiguity and manage your time
- A starter-finisher with a willingness to show initiative
- A thorough and methodical approach with great attention to detail
- An ability to recognise opportunities and present solutions

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
