Charge Nurse – Regular Dialysis Unit

We are looking to recruit a full-time band 6 Charge Nurse for the busy Renal Dialysis Unit located within Stobhill Hospital.

The unit is open Monday Saturday and the shifts are worked as long days.

Applications are invited from experienced nurses who are active on the NMC Register and who possess at least 5 years renal nursing experience to join our friendly team in the Renal Dialysis Unit as a band 6 Charge Nurse.

This unit provides haemodialysis treatment to 20 renal dialysis outpatients per shift, with 2 patient shifts operating each day within a very friendly and welcoming outpatient department.

It is part of the larger regional renal services, which consist of 6 outpatient haemodialysis units, a community home therapies unit and the main inpatient hub housed on level 4 of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

We are looking for an individual who can evidence leadership experience within a team and possess a desire to contribute to the development of the service. You will be expected to deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse in their absence and lead the nursing team and coordinate and direct the care within the dialysis unit.

As Charge Nurse you will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient's needs, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care which are evidence based. A high degree of

clinical expertise will be evident with the ability to work to high quality clinical standards. You are required to be flexible, forward thinking and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be educated to graduate level, with evidence of ongoing

professional development, possess excellent communication and sound decision-making skills.

As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates' evidence of current NMC registration will be required prior to start date. This post also requires PVG scheme membership/disclosure Scotland check.
